Here, the atmosphere we are talking about includes not only the service level and culture of the restaurant itself, but also various soft and hard strengths such as the decoration design and lighting environment of the restaurant. The author is proficient in lighting design, so here I will only discuss with you the issue of lighting environment, and the target of the discussion: Chinese restaurants (restaurants).
Before we start discussing the lighting design of Chinese restaurants, let`s take a look at the lighting design of [foreign fast food" restaurants such as McDonald`s and KFC (as shown in the picture above, lighting the booth area of KFC).
It can be seen from the picture above that in terms of lighting design, McDonald's and KFC mainly use bright light source systems, which means that they hope that the atmosphere in the store is cheerful and active. This is consistent with their customer base targeting, namely, women and children.
Let's take a look at the lighting design of foreign traditional coffee shops and western restaurants (as shown in the picture above). We all know a little bit, especially in the early years, western restaurants were places where our Chinese people often go in pursuit of romance. Its lighting design is based on calm, soft and warm. Of course, the culture and habits of different countries lead to different emotional atmospheres in the minds of local people. For example, the British like to be classic and dignified, the French pay attention to liveliness and clarity, but the Americans pursue casual and eclectic.
In the author's opinion, the light in the lighting design of Chinese restaurants can be roughly divided into three types: natural light, decorative light, and basic lighting light.
1. First of all, just like the difference in lighting design between "foreign fast food restaurants" and traditional western restaurants, different types of Chinese restaurants also need to correspond to different lighting design systems, whether it is the shape of the lamps or the light source. Color temperature, illuminance, angle. When decorating restaurants and restaurants, they should artistically configure lighting design systems to achieve the unity of the beauty of food and the beauty of the environment while mobilizing the aesthetic taste of diners.
2. According to the traditional dining psychology of our country, the Chinese restaurant should be brightly lit, full of festive atmosphere, and the lighting atmosphere should be hot enough. In addition, the decoration and lighting design of Chinese restaurants can often evoke the dining memory deep in the hearts of diners.
For example, if a restaurant is brightly lit and red lanterns are hung high, people will recognize it as a Chinese restaurant at a glance, and even have the desire to enter the restaurant from far away.Therefore, the lighting design of Chinese restaurants should match people's traditional dining memories.
3. About the dining table lighting. The focus of the lighting here is to make the food on the table look full and true in color, and the lighting fully restores the "color and fragrance" of the dishes, while making the diners' faces soft and natural.
The author suggests that the color rendering of the light source of the dining table lamps and lanterns should be above 85, and the chandelier with warm color light and no glare should be used.The installation height of the chandelier is 70-80 cm higher than the tabletop, so as not to block the sight of diners on both sides of the table. Of course, depending on the height of the floor, the chandelier in the box space should be installed higher.
4. Auxiliary lighting. We can set low-light auxiliary lighting on the walls around the restaurant, mainly for decorative effect. The advantage is that it can add a bit of relaxed and joyful atmosphere to the Chinese restaurant.
